  • Civil Service Competitive Position

    • Interested applicants: must be in a NYS public school position or be on the NYS Civil service certification list for Transportation Supervisor. 
    • Salary: $90,000-$100,000 plus benefits

  • The Scotia-Glenville Central School District is seeking a driven and exceptional educational leader for the probationary track position of K-12 Director of Math and Science. This 11-month position involves overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of Math and Science curriculum districtwide. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in various areas, including improving student outcomes, curriculum innovation, multi-tiered systems of support, fostering an inclusive environment, and supporting teacher professional growth. The role also requires exemplary work ethic, effective communication with stakeholders, team-building skill, and the ability to motivate both staff and students. The Director of K-12 Math and Science reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.

  • Behavior Specialist – Districtwide

    Job Summary:

    The Behavior Specialist works collaboratively with staff, administrators, and families to implement effective behavior support practices. Key responsibilities include behavior observation, monitoring, consultations, and intervention planning. 

    As the primary contact for behavior-related systems, this position collaborates with special education staff to develop and implement Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs). Additionally, the Behavior Specialist provides targeted professional development, direct student support, manages web-based behavioral resources, and advises on classroom management plans. The Behavior Specialist works under general supervision of the Director of Pupil Personnel. 

    This behavior specialist will not only provide consultation but will work directly with students to provide behavioral interventions, coach staff in how to implement behavioral interventions, and assist with progress monitoring of BIPs. 

    Minimum Qualifications:  

    Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Sciences, or Behavior Analysis. 

    Experience: Three (3) years (preferred) of experience working with children/adolescents exhibiting a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders.  Experience must include: Developing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Improvement/Intervention Plans (BIPs), and positive behavioral supports. 

    Special Requirement: Must hold and maintain active certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at the time of application and throughout employment.

    The Main Office Attendance Secretary is an essential support position.  The successful candidate will provide clerical support including attendance reporting to the middle school administrators and will serve as a resource to staff, students, families, and the community.

Transportation Dept.

  • (Non-competitive class)
    Teacher Aide positions exist in the Transportation Dept. effective immediately.

    • Hours:
      • 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
      • 2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
    • Hourly rate: $15.50/hour

  • Must be good with children and multitasking as primary responsibility will be to transport children to and from school safely.

Scotia-Glenville does not have a human resources department. You must know which department to apply for a position through. Please check below for the proper department in which to submit an application.

  • Custodians, groundworkers and cleaners

    If there is an active opening in the department, you need to pick up an application. Check here to see if there is an opening in the buildings and grounds department.

    Applications can be picked up the Buildings and Grounds office at the District Office, 900 Preddice Parkway (the end of Lark Street) in Scotia. The Buildings and Grounds Department is located near the business office.

  • Scotia-Glenville only hires from an active Schenectady County Civil Service Commission list for clerical positions. If there is a position available, and it can not be filled from candidates on the active Civil Service list, then it will be advertised and applications will be available.
